🎯 About the Role:
As an Android Developer in the OTT division, you will play a key role in designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining modern streaming applications that power digital entertainment experiences for a large user base across India.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including backend developers, UI/UX designers, QA engineers, product teams, and streaming technology specialists to build highly scalable and feature-rich OTT products.

This role requires strong expertise in Android architecture, media playback technologies, TV-based user experiences, and application performance optimization.

🔹 Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop scalable Android applications for OTT and streaming platforms
• Build seamless video playback experiences using ExoPlayer and streaming technologies
• Work on Android TV / Fire TV applications with optimized TV-oriented UI/UX
• Implement HLS/DASH streaming protocols and DRM-secured media playback
• Optimize application startup time, rendering performance, and playback stability
• Integrate REST APIs, analytics tools, and third-party SDKs
• Collaborate with Agile teams for sprint planning, feature delivery, and product enhancements
• Ensure smooth D-pad navigation and intuitive 10-foot UI experiences
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve application reliability
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and performance tuning initiatives
• Maintain code quality, scalability, and security best practices

🔹 Required Skills & Qualifications:
✅ 4+ years of professional Android development experience
✅ Strong expertise in Java & Kotlin
✅ Hands-on experience with ExoPlayer, HLS/DASH streaming protocols, and DRM integration
✅ Practical experience with Leanback library for Android TV UI development
✅ Experience building OTT applications for Mobile and at least one of Android TV / Fire TV
✅ Strong understanding of Jetpack Components including ViewModel, LiveData/StateFlow, WorkManager, Navigation, etc.
✅ Solid understanding of Android app lifecycle and modern Android architecture patterns
✅ Expertise in TV-oriented UX, D-pad navigation patterns, and 10-foot UI design principles
✅ Experience with Retrofit, JSON parsing, and REST API integration
✅ Familiarity with Firebase Analytics or other monitoring and analytics platforms
✅ Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills using Android Studio tools
✅ Understanding of Gradle configurations, build variants, signing, and release management processes
✅ Good understanding of memory optimization, multithreading, and asynchronous programming

⭐ Preferred / Good to Have Skills:
• Experience with video analytics and media performance monitoring
• Knowledge of adaptive bitrate streaming and CDN concepts
• Familiarity with OTT product ecosystems and subscription-based platforms
• Exposure to CI/CD workflows and automated deployment pipelines
• Experience handling large-scale consumer-facing Android applications
• Knowledge of app security and secure content delivery mechanisms
