🎯 Role Overview

As a Chromecast Developer, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining Chromecast-enabled streaming solutions for OTT platforms and media applications.

You will work closely with product, engineering, QA, and streaming technology teams to build scalable, secure, and high-performance casting experiences across web, mobile, and Smart TV ecosystems.

This role is ideal for professionals passionate about streaming technologies, media delivery systems, web application development, and connected TV ecosystems.

🔧 Key Responsibilities
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

✔ Develop and maintain Chromecast sender and receiver applications
✔ Build seamless casting experiences using Google Cast SDK
✔ Work extensively with Web Sender & Web Receiver frameworks
✔ Develop and optimize CAF (Cast Application Framework)-based applications
✔ Integrate advanced video playback capabilities using Shaka Player and web-based video players
✔ Implement and optimize streaming protocols like HLS and MPEG-DASH
✔ Work on DRM-protected streaming workflows (Widevine preferred)
✔ Debug and troubleshoot streaming, playback, and casting-related issues
✔ Optimize video playback quality, buffering, and streaming performance
✔ Collaborate with OTT engineering, frontend, backend, and QA teams
✔ Ensure application scalability, responsiveness, and reliability
✔ Participate in architecture discussions and performance optimization initiatives
✔ Contribute to production support, release management, and deployment activities

✅ Strong experience with Google Cast SDK (Web Sender & Web Receiver)
✅ Expertise in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS
✅ Hands-on experience with CAF (Cast Application Framework)
✅ Experience with Shaka Player or similar web-based video players
✅ Strong understanding of HLS & MPEG-DASH streaming protocols
✅ Experience working with DRM technologies (Widevine preferred)
✅ Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
✅ Hands-on experience using Chrome DevTools & Cast Debug Logger
✅ Understanding of OTT streaming architectures and media delivery systems
✅ Experience building scalable streaming experiences for connected devices
